The new generation of Falls
Prevention Technology

Guardian Sentry is CE marked and registered as a Class I medical device. Now widely in use in NHS Trusts & wards across the UK, Guardian Sentry offers a new approach to falls prevention and management. Guardian Sentry watches over your vulnerable patients by linking our unique Sens-Ex® proximity sensors to a wide range of mobile devices, pagers or nurse call systems and management dashboards. Alarms can be sent to one or multiple staff and incorporates an escalation process for an additional layer of security for patient safety. The management system generates real-time reports which can include alarms raised, staff response time and other bespoke user-defined requirements which can provide senior staff with accurate information for clinical decision support.

Unlike standard bed/chair exit alarms & systems which can exclude certain patients because of their physiology or existing co-morbidities, Guardian Sentry can be used for any patient, of any weight or size, on any type of mattress or support surface for any patient clinical or care application.

Guardian Sentry generates a response monitoring system for management oversight, this not only improves staff response rates but also assist’s in reducing the need for high cost one to one nursing. All of this can be accomplished whilst delivering a significant reduction in patient falls.

In 2017 approximately 250,000 patients had a fall in hospital." [Ref: National Audit of Inpatient Falls, Audit report 2017 Royal College of Physicians National Audit.]"

It is our focus & mission at Approach Medical to reduce the incidence and impact of inpatient falls, for patients, staff and NHS budgets.
